The shorter version: marketing, done with teeth.
I am 'Wole Oduwole. I run growth and product marketing programs for tech companies building out of Africa. When people ask what I do, the honest answer is this: I help founders stop guessing. The rest is just technique.
The work, briefly.
Twelve years in. Started on the agency side in Lagos. Moved into in-house roles across fintech, edtech and media. Worked with Google on product launches in Africa. Sat with the team that shaped YouTube Music's algorithm for the Nigerian market. Helped iterate on Google Maps in country.
These days the focus is split two ways. One half is SEOGidi, an AI-native SEO platform I am building for startups that still think search is a real channel. The other half is a small roster of advisory clients, mostly founders who want fractional growth or SEO leadership without the theatre of hiring a full CMO.
Why Africa, specifically.
Because the playbooks written in San Francisco do not port. Search intent in Lagos is different. Payment behaviour in Nairobi is different. Attention in Accra is different. Most of the marketing advice imported into African tech is borrowed furniture. I prefer to build from what is actually there.
How I work.
Short engagements, written scopes, one channel of contact. No decks unless the deck is the deliverable. Honest reporting, including the weeks where numbers do not move. I am not interested in looking smart. I am interested in whether the business grows.
Credentials, if you must.
Over 12 years in digital marketing. Over 500 brands scaled. Over 1,000 marketers trained through workshops and private sessions. Regularly cited among the strongest SEO practitioners working in Nigeria. None of this is the reason you would hire me. The work is the reason.
Outside of work.
Speaking at events, mostly on SEO and go-to-market in emerging markets. Writing in the journal when something is worth putting down, and occasional longer-form research. Coaching founders when I have bandwidth. Based between Lagos and London.
